Marine Electrician

Position overview
Reporting to the Lead Hand and Project Manager, our Electricians have a hands-on, multi-faceted role which requires both working alone and as part of a team.
The Electrician ensures the highest standard of quality in their work and performs efficiently and effectively.
Safety is a priority, and our Electricians are expected to practice safety precautions in executing their duties, including the proper use of safety equipment.
Duties and skills
- Marine experience or familiarity with generation and power distribution
- Ability to work on different marine electrical systems — watermakers, hydraulic systems, diesel furnaces, black water systems, electronics and NMEA 2000 systems
- Deliver exceptional customer service that supports repeat business and continued satisfaction of Philbrook’s Boatyard clients
- Keep docks and work space clean and free from debris to ensure the safety of clients and staff
- Meet or exceed expectations with regard to promised times of completion
- Ensure all workmanship and quality is consistent with Philbrook’s Boatyard standards
Qualifications
- Must be able to freely travel in and out of the USA
- Red Seal Electrical Certificate preferred
- Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s licence
- Hands-on multi-tasker, able to work independently or as part of a small team
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Pleasure Craft Operators Card — see Transport Canada’s website
- Recreational boating experience useful
- Computer skills — internet and email, Excel and Word, plus a general understanding of network management and IP protocols
- Must have own tools

Competitive with industry standards, and includes a comprehensive health and benefits package with RRSP after one year on staff.
