One of the greatest joys of yacht ownership is that feeling of control when you are confidently at the helm. But who is tending to your yacht when you are not?
Philbrook’s is pleased to provide professional yacht monitoring, to enhance the pleasures of yacht ownership by providing peace of mind for the yacht owner.
Philbrook’s Yacht Care Program is a specialized service that provides visual inspection of yachts to ensure their safety and condition while the owners are away.
Each month our Yacht Care staff will forward your inspection reports to you by email, fax or mail. This reporting method means you can be confident that inspections have taken place, and that you have been made aware of potential — and potentially costly — problems before they occur. Any items of concern would be reported immediately by telephone.

What an inspection covers
The checklist
Every programme is built around the vessel. A typical inspection includes the following.
- 01Ensure bilge pumps are in working order
- 02Physically check, where accessible, that all float switches activate the bilge pumps
- 03Check all accessible through-hull fittings for weeping and corrosion
- 04Ensure batteries are charged
- 05Check the bonding system, if applicable
- 06Check all windows and hatches for leaks
- 07Secure all canvas, inspect for wear and tear, and ensure rain or snow is not being trapped
- 08Run engines and generators as required
- 09Check fridges and freezers; inspect provisions for infestation
- 10General inspection of all quarters and engine room or compartments
- 11Check dock lines and fenders, and dock connections for electrical and water
- 12Check auxiliary heaters and dryers, cords and plugs, for excessive warming
- 13Storm watch inspections as required
- 14Monthly exterior washdown
