A wood-working island in an expanding sea of epoxy and glass — from traditional boat builders and shipwrights to fine furniture makers and designers.
In order to join Philbrook’s highly skilled Wood Department, employees must have a passion for the trade and consistently produce high-quality work. Many of our tradespeople are certified or working towards certification. We believe in the apprenticeship program, and our apprentices have consistently been in the top 5% of their class at facilities such as BCIT.
We have a diverse complement of skills within the Wood Department — from traditional boat builders, shipwrights, joiners, commercial and architectural millworkers to timber framers, fine furniture makers and designers. We do everything from customizing existing cabinetry, building new furniture, teak decks and moulds of all types and sizes, to the simplest of maintenance projects.
